Аннотация

The Second Language Acquisition (SLA) study found language ability and age of onset (AO), that is, the age at which learners are first meaningfully exposed to L2, as reliable predictors of classroom learning rate and final achievement L2. The chapters in this volume present new research and overviews of research findings on the effects of age, effects of bilingualism, maturational constraints and sensitive periods in SLA, subcomponents of language ability and the development of new aptitude measures, impact of AO and ability in combination by SLA
