Аннотация

The book "El Filibusterism" ("Subversion") is the second novel by Jose Rizal, a national hero of the Philippines. In Fili, some of the characters of Noli come to life — Basilio, Dona Victorina, Padre Salvi — and tells about the lives of others — Captain Thiago, Maria Clara, Ibarra. It features new characters who enrich Filipino historical prose: Simon, the transformed Ibarra; Cabesang Tales and his struggle for justice; the nationalist student Isagani; the Indian priest Padre Florentino; monks, officials, lawyers, journalists. Thanks to them, the colonial environment — its officialdom, education, legal system, struggle for power, social models — appears in a new light as a context for conflicts and insights.
