Аннотация
This book serves as a window into the traditions and lifeways of a nomadic people, and how they’ve adapted them to modern-day life. Oral speech is often at the heart of nomadic cultures—for the Kazakhs, eloquence was (and still is) a highly valued character trait. While having a “red tongue” (qizi! fil) is perhaps an unrealistic goal for a foreigner, Kanat aga hopes this book encourages those in Kazakhstan to at least try out a few Kazakh phrases or two. You'll find any attempt to speak Kazakh as a foreigner will be met with pleasure (and often surprise)
